I am a senior consultant advising organizations on leadership, strategy, governance, finance, and mergers. With 35 years in turnaround and restructuring, I now focus on the charity sector as an interim CEO or CFO, bringing expertise in strategy and financial sustainability. A certified turnaround practitioner, I hold an MBA, MSc, DChA, and three professional fellowships. My background includes roles as a licensed insolvency practitioner and experience founding and managing service and manufacturing businesses. Known for being commercial, collaborative, and getting stuff done, I am recognized for my assertiveness, listening skills, and credibility. Key projects:

Interim CEO, Brand partner of a national federated charity for the elderly

The project resulted from an executive leadership crisis following the resignation of the CEO and CFO amongst a post-merger integration and pandemic scenario. Exploration of further mergers, completion of audited accounts, stabilised the SMT, financially modelled the charity, proposed, and implemented restructuring plans, recruited permanent CEO and a shared CFO, a focus on employee & client communication, recruited 4 new trustees, close working with chair and board on strategic development options. Provision of new board pack.

Interim Chief Restructuring Officer, Brand partner of a national federated charity for the elderly

Analysis and financial modelling, creation of a restructuring plan, direct working with Chair, board, and CEO plus external advisors. Sale of properties to create liquid free reserves. Management of stakeholders, communication with LA’s, MP’s, NHS, and foundations. Negotiation re going concern with auditors. Proposals & modelling for a regional merger of 5 brand partners.

Interim CFO, Brand partner of a national federated charity for the elderly

The project involved post-merger integration issues, an enterprise-wide software initiative needing relaunching with national significance, operational adoption, finance team stabilised, directly assisting CEO & board with strategic planning and budgets, report writing for new software, consulting on contract & income generation, new financial board pack and recruitment of new permanent CFO.
