I am a qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive social housing experience gained over 30 years. After training and qualifying at KPMG I joined the social housing sector and in 1999 was appointed Group Finance Director and Company Secretary at Catalyst Housing. My career at Catalyst spanned 15 years and included a Group Projects Director role working with the Group CEO on strategic projects including mergers and regeneration projects.

In the last 10 years I have held non-executive roles on a Finance Risk and Audit Committee and a Treasury Committee, worked as a consultant and held senior executive interim roles. I have in depth experience of working with senior executives and Boards to address regulatory and strategic issues and working with finance teams to support this. This has included, business planning, mitigation planning, transformation work in finance teams, accounting reviews, treasury – review and raising funds, working with Boards and regulators.

I work with stakeholders to ensure their requirements are met. I am a keen team player and leader ensuring finance teams are open to change and fully engaged.

Key Projects:

Interim finance consultant, a care & support charity

Appointed as an interim consultant to support the charity in developing a new financial strategy to transform the business. Developed a business plan and secured the required funding. Transformation plans are in place and the existing team are now implementing the strategy.

Interim finance director, a social housing provider

Appointed as interim FD following a regulatory downgrade.  The key focus was resolving the issues the regulator had identified. My role was to lead the finance team and work closely with the Board.  This included an updated business plan, treasury review and a transformation of the finance team and systems.
