New Team Member

A big welcome to Cara Evans who joins us as Head of Partnerships and Mergers

We are delighted to announce that Cara Evans has joined Eastside People as Head of Partnerships and Mergers.

Cara has worked in the charity sector for 25 years. She has worked for over 15 different charities and volunteered for many more. She began her charity journey as a Community Fundraiser for Whizz-kidz, moving to the British Red Cross and British Heart Foundation as fundraising project Manager. She moved to Operations Director and then CEO at Hemihelp.

Cara’s last role before joining Eastside People was COO at the Mix. The Mix*, the UK’s leading support service for young people, came about through a merger between two charities – YouthNet and Get Connected.

Why did Cara decide to join the team at Eastside People?

“I am thrilled to be joining Eastside People.  I totally believe in mergers and partnerships and I want to work with as many charities as I can to help them on their journey. I love sorting the many problems charities have and organising all the tricky operations, finance and HR and helping charities to be more efficient and effective.”

* Based on the findings of a merger report commissioned by The Mix, any charity considering a merger or partnership, should read this list of the top ten things that charities should think about before, during and after a merger project.

I believe in the power of the charity sector and care passionately about what we do. I would like more charities to think about mergers and partnerships as a strategic option during their strategy planning cycle.
