The Eastside Primetimers Foundation

The Eastside Primetimers Foundation exists to enhance young people’s understanding of charities, social enterprises and voluntary sector organisations, and to support social action projects that are close to their hearts. The Foundation works in collaboration with schools, colleges and universities, and provides them with a combination of professional, sector-specific support and grants.

The Foundation is funded from a variety of sources including income from Eastside People and donations.

The Foundation’s priorities:

Social Action Support for Schools

Working with school leaders and students to co-create and support projects that have a positive social impact and play a part in the development of understanding of the world of charities and social enterprises. These student-led projects can benefit from small grants accompanied by expert advice from volunteers from the social and business sectors. This short video is an example of our work with a school in Ilford.

Grants for university fees

We want to make the charity sector more attractive to talented young people as a place to work and forge a career. We do this through funding students who face economic and related barriers to study for a charity sector Masters degree. Currently, we are supporting students on the Charities Master’s course at Bayes Business School, City, University of London. We are seeking funding to increase the number of students and to encourage new courses in parts of the UK where these do not exist.

Shared Learning

The Foundation’s website is also a source of advice for individuals who are considering a career transition to work in the social sector. This is based on 20 years’ experience of helping individuals make a career change.

Support for Funders

Utilising the Foundation’s extensive experience in partnering with funders, our Grant Plus approach helps enhance and add value to grant funding by bringing voluntary and professional support together.

Our goal is to help young people better understand the role of charities, social enterprises and other voluntary sector organisations with the ultimate aim of widening their engagement with social action projects.
