I’m a sustainability, ESG, carbon management and health and safety advisor and consultant with more than 30 years corporate, consulting and NGO experience.

I started out as a mechanical engineer and have followed a circuitous international career that encompasses leadership coaching, strategic business management and organisational sustainability. I’ve had the pleasure of engaging with Board of Directors through to operational teams to guide and influence their decisions and behaviours towards greener, safer and less costly options.

I’ve worked with organisations with just 10 employees up to MNCs with 10,000 – each one has its own nuances, challenges and vitality. Most often I am requested to conduct a baseline review which is followed by the development and implementation of sustainability /ESG strategies and action plans. In my experience the greatest obstacles are data and competence - or the lack thereof – which are placed at the centre of the development plans.

Carbon and Environmental strategic review

EP was requested by a long term client to support the merge of two entities into a single mega-charity with a significant property portfolio. I was tasked with undertaking a strategic review which included assessing existing environmental and carbon plans and data, and interviewing personnel. The outcome was a commercially focused gap analysis and sustainability and carbon reduction action plan to support the organisation’s ongoing success and integration process.

Environmental training for Board Directors and Non-Executive Directors

I have developed and am delivering environmental and climate change awareness training for to Malaysian Directors of listed companies for the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM), on behalf of the Malaysian Bursa. I have successfully completed more than 35 sessions delivered to a total of 3,000 delegates.

Sustainability and ESG Strategy and disclosure

I have supported several small (<50 employee) UK organisations and member institutions in the formulation of their ESG and carbon strategies as they progress along (or start out on) their sustainability journeys. Materiality assessments are followed by peer reviews to arrive at a consolidated set of actions that are aligned and integrated into the organisation’s overall business strategy.
