I work with organisations to support strategic, service, and workforce development especially education and training, funding applications, measuring and evaluating impact, safeguarding, and engagement with stakeholders, beneficiaries and people with lived experience of health and social care issues.
I have over 30 years’ management experience working in adult and older people’s mental health, dementia, and mental capacity in both statutory and non-statutory organisations. This ranges from being a chair of trustees, developing and managing national programmes, and running frontline mental health services. Other specialist areas include equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), rights and equalities in health and social care, arts, heritage and wellbeing, facilitating and chairing consultation and advisory work, and partnership working.
Key Projects:
Developing an evaluation framework, a service pathway
I developed an evaluation framework for a gambling harms charity for a pilot service pathway, focusing particularly on key outcomes. I did this collaboratively with people with lived experience of gambling harms, professionals and academic researchers.
Funding and programme management advisor, Race Equality Foundation
I drafted a funding application that secured almost £500,000 for a programme run by a national equalities charity to provide grants to regional organisations supporting people from ethnically diverse communities affected by dementia. I also advised on a range of programme management issues.
Strategic advisor developing a dementia strategy, NHS trust
Working for the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust I consulted with senior management, frontline staff and service users to revise and develop their organisation-wide dementia strategy, including facilitating a workshop to support its implementation.
