Charity Merger research – Good Merger Index

The Eastside People Good Merger Index is the annual research report on charity mergers.

The launch of the 2024 Charity Good Merger Index research took place on Wednesday 7th February 2024.

This unique annual study investigates and reports on charity and social enterprise mergers.

Watch the event recording to hear the research findings and learn what our panellists from charities that have all undergone mergers, had to say about their charity merger experiences.

Our panellists were:

  1. Liz Searle, CEO of Keech Hospice Care that merged with Bedford Daycare Hospice last year
  2. Sir David Holmes CBE, Chief Executive of Family Action and ex Chair of Children England, a charity that sadly closed in December 2023
  3. Paul Townsley Chief Executive of HumanKind which has recently merged with Richmond Fellowship to form a new national charity to better support those with multiple/complex needs, including mental health, alcohol, drugs and other related areas.
