Mind in Gwent will be a mental health and wellbeing charity forged from the merger of 3 well established Gwent located Mind federated charities. They are now seeking a Director of Finance & Organisational Support to help shape and implement charity strategy with the leadership team, lead on financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting and help set the tone for a progressive, inclusive, learning culture which prioritises wellbeing and embraces diversity.

You will be at the heart of financial and strategic decision-making/implementation, providing sound advice to Trustees, Chief Executive, Directors, and Managers across a brief including much of the organisation support functions including Finance, Business Development, Fundraising, Communications and Training (plus external IT and Facilities providers), expertise that will be integral to the delivery of high quality mental health and wellbeing programmes.

You will enjoy working in a newly merged charity environment where the ability to manage a variety of concurrent tasks will be paramount. This is an exciting time to join, to bring together the teams and consolidate 3 sets of policy, process and system support into a single Mind in Gwent way, against the backdrop of a demanding and competitive environment for services.

You will be professionally qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience with an in-depth understanding of business/financial planning and risk management in a not-for-profit setting.

Your experience will include managing the successful delivery of financial advice and support in complex settings and an understanding of the financial requirements of the Charity Commission and key UK financial/regulatory agencies.

A self-starter you will bring experience of leading finance and other business support functions (business development is desirable). Your skills will include the ability to simplify and communicate complex data, creativity, high level analytical and problem solving skills, IT literacy and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Your approach to work will be flexible and inclusive with the ability to recognise and adapt to different perspectives in or order to achieve high level goals. Your leadership style will be based on treating people fairly and equitably and in promoting wellbeing and encouraging learning and development.

Benefits:

Mind in Gwent is committed to achieving the Gold Investors in People Award reflecting their commitment to the wellbeing of their lively, friendly teams. They empower people to have a voice, discover new opportunities and develop their careers.

In addition to knowing you’re making a difference, you’ll also enjoy excellent benefits, including flexible working to promote personal wellbeing and a healthy work/life balance, 25 days’ annual leave rising incrementally to 34 days per year and pension plan with 5% employer contribution.
