I'm an experienced operations specialist offering thoughtful and energetic operational and strategic support to charities large and small. I originally trained as a psychologist and worked therapeutically with young people before moving into charity programme management. I worked in charities large and small for 25 years (alongside some time in local authorities) and have wide-ranging experience in mobilising and leading complex cross-sector partnership programmes such as consortia and social impact bonds. I have a Masters in Voluntary Sector Management. I am especially interested in supporting charities to learn and grow through increased focus on practitioner learning, impact-focused delivery, meaningful user voice and influence, practice development and the relationship between practice and evidence.
Management of a social impact bond, a small social enterprise
I led operations of a complex intervention in a large rural county. Working closely with the local authority commissioner and investment team, I managed staff, relationships, performance and data capture.
Sector research and analysis to inform business development, Eastside People
I delivered a comprehensive research report that examined voluntary sector changes through multiple lenses, synthesising interviews, research, political and funding environment changes.
Learning and consultation programme leadership, a large national children’s charity
I led a programme of learning events followed by a consultation event programme for cross-sector professionals, featuring reflective discussion techniques.
