Emma Mayo Eastside People member

Emma Mayo

Consultant

I started my career in the corporate sector in start-ups, SMEs and global companies working in direct marketing, operations management, worldwide events, and global conferences before finding my true passion in the charity sector.

In the 13 years since I transitioned to the charity sector, I have become an experienced Chief Business Officer and Director of Operations working across membership bodies, education charities, a consortium of 52 speech, language, and communication organisations, and developing arts on prescription for vulnerable teenagers and adults.

I have a consistent and high performing track record of developing and implementing operational, project and financial strategies that successfully set, and exceed, business objectives.

I am an excellent communicator, a strong believer in the importance of building collaborative working relationships and thrive where I can optimise positive change and impact.

Key Projects:

CBO, National Childrens Charity

Led on the development and implementation of operational, financial, organisational development, and governance strategies, processes, and teams.

Platform 3, National Charity for Children and Young People’s Workforce

Development and roll out of an innovative approach to delivery and undertaking a Level 3 qualification online. This national project was evaluated and proven to ensure a statistically significant increase in the knowledge, confidence and skills of early years practitioners for higher quality provision and better outcomes for children.

Links to Thrive, Arts and Culture Organisation

A one-year pilot project developing the systems of referral between Social Prescribing Link Workers and arts and cultural organisations in West Berkshire to improve the health and wellbeing of our most vulnerable communities.
