I work with organisations, building and developing sustainable social sector organisations and social enterprises. I aim to bring together the breadth of experience I've gained from thirty years of successfully working both within the commercial business sector, integrated with the cultural ethos of the public and social sector. I have a strong interest on employability and health & well-being projects. My experience spans personally setting up and growing social enterprises across to executive and non-executive roles within a variety of charities.
I am experienced in delivering within the NHS and Local Authorities addressing the challenges of service redesign.
I draw on my experience as former Chair of Social Enterprise Scotland and Trustee of Health and Social Care Alliance.
Comprehensive strategic review and plan for the next 5-10 years, large charity supporting people who find themselves homeless
I was the project lead as the charity sought to refine their vision and develop a robust strategic plan, engaging with the people they support, and key stakeholders.
Charity acquisition project, small social enterprise (t/o approx. £1m) delivering recycling and employability activities
I steered and led the charity to identify potential partners for acquisition and supported them with the early engagement with a number of suitable organisations.
IBD Service redesign project, medium sized charity supporting people living with inflammatory bowel disease
I steered a wide stakeholder group ranging from clinicians to people living with IBD, producing the National Blueprint for IBD Care, 2016, in Scotland, a project supported by the Scottish Government.
