Why join National Energy Action as a Trustee?
We’re seeking new Trustees here at National Energy Action! We need people who can help us make a real difference to the lives of people living in fuel poverty. Could this be you?
Fuel poverty is about far more than energy bills. It affects people’s health, wellbeing, dignity and life chances. That’s why our work goes beyond responding to those who reach out to us.
We actively work alongside individuals and communities who are too often overlooked, partnering with local organisations, health professionals and community groups so that no one is left behind. The data and experience we share are becoming more valuable as we enter a new era of policies and technologies that help deliver warm homes.
As Trustees, you will play a vital role in shaping our future. You’ll help guide our strategy, support and constructively challenge our executive team, and ensure our mission, values, and the lived experience of the people we serve remain central to every decision we make.
Who is National Energy Action?
National Energy Action (NEA) is the national fuel poverty charity. We’ve worked across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland for over 40 years, to ensure that everyone can afford to live in a warm, healthy home.
Together with frontline practitioners, companies, regulators and governments, National Energy Action works to support vulnerable clients, raise awareness and achieve enduring change.
What matters to National Energy Action?
Our vision is to end fuel poverty. Our mission – everyone should be able to keep their home warm, healthy and safe.
The work that we do at National Energy Action is driven by our values and behaviours. We make things happen, we put people first and we lead the way. Accessibility and inclusion are central to our approach.
We work to make ending fuel poverty a message that cannot be ignored.
What is National Energy Action looking for in a trustee?
First and foremost, we are looking for people who are inspired by and on board with our mission.
Our Trustees need to provide oversight, support, and challenge to ensure the best use of resources. They’ll lead in the safe operating of the charity, while also contributing to board discussions and the development of our ongoing strategy.
Here are some of the specific things we are looking for. If you don’t see yourself here, but you connect to our mission and feel you have something to offer, please do get in touch.
- Lived experiences of fuel poverty
- Delivery of services to people facing fuel poverty
- Policy development
- Research, impact and evaluation
- Information, data and technology
