If you have professional finance expertise and a passion for youth development, you could be our new Treasurer, here at Greater Manchester East Scouts!

As County Treasurer, you’ll provide strategic financial leadership to guide our charity. We’ll welcome your financial knowledge to our Board, where you’ll play an important role.

If you are also committed to the ambition for Scouting to be more youth-shaped, then we’d love to learn more about you!

Who are Greater Manchester East Scouts?

At Greater Manchester East Scouts County, we believe all young people have the right to an adventure. This could be a Beaver Scout spending their first night away from home or an Explorer Scout going on their first international expedition.

We change lives by offering 6-to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities through unique experiences. Scouting in Greater Manchester East helps children and young adults reach their full potential.

We help young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world.

What matters to Greater Manchester East Scouts?

Adventure is at the heart of what we do. Everyone at Greater Manchester East Scouts shares our organisation’s values: Integrity, Respect, Care, Belief and Co-operation. Our values reflect our commitment to being open and welcoming to everyone.

We want young people and adult volunteers from different backgrounds to feel included, supported and able to take part. Our Board is particularly keen to bring in a wider range of perspectives, experience and lived experience.

If you join us at Greater Manchester East Scouts…

You’ll make a great impact by bringing your expertise in finance and accounting to a charity supporting the community.

Together with fellow trustees, staff and volunteers, you will help ensure that the County’s resources are managed clearly. Sharing your professional skills will support high-quality Scouting for young people across Greater Manchester East.

As Treasurer, you’ll help us to make responsible financial decisions. In addition, this is a great opportunity for continued personal development alongside a passionate team.

It really is a great way to give back through a voluntary contribution while still balancing your day-to-day commitments.

What do Greater Manchester East Scouts look for in a County Treasurer?

We are particularly looking for:

  • a commitment to the best interests of the charity
