Bec Woolley

Consultant

I work with teams to solve difficult problems, think about their work in new ways, and overcome hurdles. I’m particularly good at helping to distil complex issues into manageable ones, working with diverse stakeholders, and finding common ground in order to move work forward.

I have a background in health service management and leadership, including a MBA in Healthcare Management, and ten years’ experience as a senior manager and leader in the charity sector. I have a keen interest in the intersection between health and its wider determinants, particularly in terms of social justice, equality, and human rights. I’ve worked hand in hand with policy-makers throughout my career, and have specific expertise around the context and devolved policy-making in Wales.

Key Projects:

Advice on policy development with a panel of experts convened by Ministers

Working alongside an expert panel to produce precisely written content; bringing cohesion, clarity, and structure; leading the facilitation of contributions in a complex policy area, with attention to nuance and sensitivity. The written outputs of this work will inform how the sector responds systemically in the future to significant constitutional changes.

Evaluation of a flagship programme, for a small but mighty charity that promotes race equality

Delivering a reflective evaluation of a flagship programme of activity, engaging stakeholders meaningfully throughout the process to bring their voices to the fore. This work is now being used as part of the organisation’s business development work, to create significant growth and long-term sustainability in alignment with one of its key strategic aims.

Bringing together current thinking and views of stakeholders, a large complex NHS organisation with a Wales-wide remit

Bringing together current thinking and the views of stakeholders in relation to a particular demographic group who face significant detriment; working across multiple sectors to compile key principles to inform Government investment. The outputs of this work will be used by stakeholders and Government to inform investment, to create clarity around the current context, and to ensure the future direction of service provision remains focused on clear key principles.
